Project

In 2020, a longtime friend Karen Land Short approached me to help creative reactive content for Joe Biden’s first presidential campaign. The work was conceived and developed at the height of COVID, out of my garage… and shared across the country.

Context

Our first pass of animation was driven solely by audio waves, allowing us to do large portions of the lip-sync audio completely automated. This gave us the ability to interchange sound bites as they happened. A final mouth shape clean up pass was done where the audio wasn’t clear or the shapes became illegible. The last exciting part of the process is of course shooting during COVID. Luckily I’ve converted my garage into a work/office/studio space, so we were able to shoot everything at my home with a small (and very eager) crew. I want to thank everyone for their contributions to this project and am eager for a less divisive and more peaceful future together.
